About

The Girlstock Art and Music Festival was founded by San Francisco native Maei Flowers in 2002, who wanted to celebrate the genius of local artists while also helping to support important causes.

Girlstock is an all volunteer driven event, produced by grassroots philanthropic-minded individuals, along with the help of businesses, and by way of the artists, dancers, writers, musicians, djs, and chefs who generously give of their time and talent. Thus far over 100 truly gracious and amazing artists and performers have participated in Girlstock.

While the emphasis of the benefit is to honor the creative work of women, the spirit of Girlstock is inclusive of everyone because what we have observed is that every body has a little girlstock inside!

To date, our collective efforts have raised thousands of dollars for local and national non-profits that are focused on helping those in need, including agencies focused on cancer, people living with hiv/AIDS, the Hurricane Katrina/Gustav survivors, and homeless youth.
