What

Why

With a sincere desire to celebrate the genius of local artists while also helping to support important causes and communities, the emphasis of the girlstock project is to honor the creative work of women, and the spirit of girlstock is inclusive of everyone because what we have observed is that every body has a little girlstock inside.

Beneficiary

For our 10th project, we celebrated and supported the Bay Area Girls Rock Camp which is an inclusive bay area non-profit dedicated to empowering girls and trans youth through music, while promoting an environment that fosters self-confidence, creativity and collaboration.

About Us

The girlstock project is an annual all volunteer driven event founded by San Francisco native Maei Flowers, and produced by grassroots philanthropic-minded individuals, along with the help of businesses, and by way of the artists, dancers, writers, musicians, djs, and chefs who generously give of their time and talent. To date, our collective efforts have raised thousands of dollars for local and national non-profits that are focused on helping those in need, including non-profits targeting food justice (City Slicker Farms), cancer (Women’s Cancer Resource Center), people living with hiv/AIDS (Pets Are Wonderful Support and Positive Resource Center), domestic violence (La Casa de las Madres), disaster survivors (Bay Area Red Cross & Rainbow World Fund - Hurricane Katrina) , and homeless youth (Youth Engagement, Advocacy and Housing).

Who

The girlstock crew wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the following artists and performers who came out in support of the bay area girls rock camp on Sept 20 & 21, 2014. Thank you! xo!
